Physics-based This is Not a Ball Game Sets Players Loose in a Surreal Parisian Circus

SEATTLE–The show is about to start, and iOS players are the main attraction in this stunning ball game from Absurd Interactive.

Set in the early 20th century in a dream-like Parisian circus, This is Not a Ball Game(TINABG) introduces players to an intriguing world where elaborate physics-based puzzles and an Art Nouveau-inspired interface are the norm. The game is free with in-app purchases and can be downloaded right away.

TINABG challenges players to launch special balls from a ramp inspired by “This is Not a Pipe” by Belgian surrealist René Magritte. To play, just swipe and tap the screen; the goal is to free the stars within each Star Block. The game includes more than 70 challenging levels, 7 different balls (each with their own special powers!), Retina-quality graphics, and a mysterious French genie along for the ride.

This is Not a Ball Game is about making an impossible ball game real,” says Sean Hart, founder and president, Absurd Interactive. “We spent a lot of time getting the historical period, location, and tone right—from the unusual music score to the circus atmosphere. We’re confident that gamers have never seen (or played!) anything quite like it.”

Inside This is Not a Ball Game is an in-game shop where players can unlock new balls and also acquire in-app currency. Progress can be made without in-app purchases, however — TINABG is balanced so that everyone with enough skill (and a bit of luck!) can complete the campaign without spending a dime.
