“The Spatials is a fun, in-depth, very gratifying experience that only gets better as you progress and learn more.”

Build the Ultimate Tourist Attraction on the Edge of Space in The Spatials
Launching today on Steam for Mac and PC
BARCELONA, Spain — March 30, 2015 — Futurama and RollerCoaster Tycoon fans, rejoice! The Spatials is launching today on Steam for the promotional price of $9.74. Created by Spanish studio Weird and Wry, The Spatials deftly mixes action RPG and 4X gameplay mechanics, a dynamic loot system, and randomly-generated galaxies to deliver a nostalgic space colony sim for earthlings and aliens alike 🙂
Set in the year 5781, The Spatials puts players in charge of creating the galaxy’s most popular tourist attraction on a lone asteroid while exploring strange new worlds, making first contact with alien species, and fighting space pirates for resources. Who says running your own space station is easy?
Depth is the name of the game here: Players are responsible for the smallest details — from the size of the rooms, shops, and decor to store merchandise. Yes, rather than focusing on galactic conquest, The Spatials is all about commercial enterprise. Keeping the station running smoothly requires business acumen and emotional intelligence of the highest order. For example, players must level up officers and prevent them from leaving — a task only accomplished by satisfying all sorts of cravings. Tourists, on the other hand, demand the very best products; the only way to keep them coming back is ensuring that they’re well-fed, entertained, and happy beyond measure.
Apart from running the station, players must also equip their officers with the latest technology by completing missions. Exploring nearby star systems, defeating pirates, recovering ancient ruins, and meeting eccentric characters are all on the menu. Since every planet is chock full of surprises, it won’t be easy for players to go through all the content in The Spatials.
“Creating a game like The Spatials has always been a dream of ours. There are so many different elements at work here: base-building, combat with landing parties, a working economy, a complex loot system, and space exploration — all running in real time,” says Carlos Carrasco, co-founder of Weird and Wry. “Once players sit down with the game, they’ll immediately notice that we not only made all systems work well together, but we also delivered a really offbeat, fun tycoon game. Player feedback has been incredibly positive, and we can barely contain our excitement for the launch!”
