We’re absolutely fascinated by space exploration and adventure — and Uncaged Studios’ procedurally-generated space simulation game, The Sentient, takes this to another level. Hailing from Maryland, solo African American developer Sharif Gaines has created a highly ambitious game that’s perfect for “space gamers.” The player assumes the role of an artificial intelligence who is responsible for aiding humanity on their journey through the cosmos and to do so by managing “The Ark” — an orbital station above Earth where they can recruit new crew members, change the layout of the ship, and (most importantly) research and improve technology for humanity’s future missions. Cat Wendt and Aaron Goldman of the Novy Creative team were thrilled to have an opportunity to create the revised logo for the game 🙂 The Sentient is on Steam Early Access for Windows.
The Sentient has been covered in Altered Confusion, Gaming Cypher, Saving Content, Blue’s News, DigiRiot, Worth Playing, The Layman’s Gamer, Press2Reset, The Gemsbok, Kotaku UK, VG 27/7, Gamespot, and MSN.
